The nose reveals the taste, which is deeply complex, has the notes of a yeasty dark Belgian ale, with stone fruits, chocolate notes, all revealed by the unusual sourness, not a true lambic, but barrel sourness from the yeasties stored there. Really makes it refreshing and dry and wanting more.
Jolly Pumpkin Noel De Calabaza
Jolly Pumpkin La Roja
Poured a cloudy reddish brown, with a light tan head. aroma, plums, carmel, fruity, yeast hints of grapes and alcohol, and a sourness finishes it off, a very enjoyable aroma. Flavor, fruity with a nice blend of caramel, yeast , plums and sour grapes
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Noire
Dark berry fruit with subtle power starts and is joined by subtle piny hops flavor with a touch of chocolate malty flavors. Creamy cocoa with edges of Dark cassis and Fig finish with a lingering quality of vanilla and dark berries
Jolly pumpkin Bam Biere
A hazy golden color pour with a huge rocky white head, highly carbonated , lots of jagged lacing left. Aroma is slightly yeasty, spicy with a bit of tartness. Flavor is slightly sour and yeasty, coriander and citrus with a hint of tangerine in the finish, not as sweet as other Saison I have had . Light body with a crisp ,clean mouthfeel
Mikkeller big/worse
Pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma is grainy, alcohol, pale fruity esters and a bit uninspired. It isn’t rich and inviting as a lot of barleywines tend to be. The flavor is herbal, hoppy, alcohol and some mild sweet malts. The hops are pine and grass.
Mikkeller Black Hole
Super Dark pour. Big alcohol heat up front. Warms the palate and nostrils. More fruity esters reminding me of raisins, figs, and dark cherries followed by a sharp roasted bitterness. The finish is warm and bone dry.
Mikkeller It’s Alive
Pours a hazy stained cedar with a silky beige head. Not much lacing, but great color. Nose has ripe plums and cherries, funky yeast, caramel and subtle hops. Taste is much hoppier than I expected with floral hops up front and through the finish. Sweet pitted fruits and tart wild yeast keep a nice balance
mikkeller beer geek Breakfast
Black, mocha head with good retention, spotty lacing. Smells roasty, malty, coffee, hint of booze. Very smooth and balanced. Taste just like the nose Roasty, malty sweet, coffee, touch of roasty/hoppy bitterness. Smooth, balanced, complex.. overall a delicious treat. Smooth, rich, complex, and not too big.
Nogne Sahti
cloudy amber-orange color. The head is two inches in height, and recedes slowly leaving nice lacing. The aroma is very herbal with a solid mead-like character. It is a very strong aroma, and has nice complexity. The taste is a nice balance of sweet malt, herbs, honey, and a considerable alcohol presence
Nogne IPA
Pours an orange hazy amber color. flavor has a bit of grapefruit but mostly it’s herbal and somewhat earthy, and the subsantial malt background just needs more hops to play off of it. There is some caramel and also some biscuity, toasty malt
